MW4 software update status: what information should providers publish?

Closed thread Closed by archive

I think one of the most overlooked things when buying gaming software is update communication.

A game update happens, something stops working, and suddenly nobody knows whether the issue is temporary or whether the product is no longer supported.

What information would you want to see on a proper MW4 software status page?

Personally, I'd want:

- Current compatibility status. - Date of the latest update. - Known issues. - Whether support has acknowledged the problem. - Any relevant customer instructions.

A simple working or not working indicator isn't always enough.

Definitely a timestamp. A status page last updated three months ago is basically decoration.

Known issues too. Even a short explanation is better than leaving people guessing.

My favorite status page is the one that says everything is fine while everything is on fire lmao.

A good status page should separate game compatibility from the software service itself. Those are different things.

Also don't announce compatibility before it's actually verified. That creates unnecessary confusion.

Agreed. Honest updates are better than fake green checkmarks.
